An Open Letter on Father’s Day

This is your first official Father’s Day and you’re not here with us, for almost 6 months to be exact. I don’t exactly know the thoughts that are racing through your head now but one thing’s for sure–you miss me and our little Noa.

We’ve been together for the last 5 years now and you haven’t changed a bit. You’re still the same man I married 2 years ago. I don’t know if I have already told you this but I am extremely grateful to God to be your wife. Our relationship is not perfect, but who has? We have our fair share of ups and downs just like any other couple.

I know a lot of times my actions have caused you hurt. And for that, I am deeply sorry. Sometimes, it’s all I know to cope up with the pain of always being far from you.

Thank you for giving me my dream wedding. You always tell me that as long as I’m happy, you are happy. I will forever treasure that in my heart.

Thank you for giving me Noa. She’s all I have when you’re not around. That is why we figured out why God immediately sent Noa to us, so that I could have someone to share the bed with when you’re gone.

Daddy, now that Noa is turning one, I know I haven’t really thanked you for seeing me through the last weeks of my pregnancy with her.

Daddy, thank you for walking with me to and from Mercury Drugstore to buy my prenatal vitamins almost every late afternoon.

For always walking with me to Jollibee when I crave for spaghetti. Thank you for patting my lower back when intense pains visited me on the Labor Room. I could still imagine the look on your face as you fight sleepiness when I was on Labor.

Thank you for loving me and Noa unselfishly.

Thank you for cleaning the house and fixing everything when you’re home.

Thank you for cooking the best Bicol Express I have ever tasted!

Thank you for doing all the best effort you can to provide for all our needs.

The list goes on and I know this blog will never be enough to thank you for all the complete love and unwavering support you have brought to our family.

I pray to the Lord to always bless you with good health, to always keep you safe from harm and to bless you with His wisdom to be able to lead our family in accordance to His will and purpose.

We’re so proud of you for all the sacrifices you have made and I salute your dedication to serve our countrymen. We are with you in this journey and we will serve this nation together as a family.

We love you so much and even though we miss you on Father’s Day, our prayers and love are always with you. Thank you, Daddy for who you are to us.

Advance Happy Birthday, too, Daddy! We’re so excited to see you again in a few more weeks! πŸ™‚

With so much love and gratitude,
–Mommy Glaiza with Baby Noa
