They say, “Mahirap magkaanak ng girl kasi maraming kakikayan. Magastos.” Yes, I’ve proven that to be so true for the last 1 year since I had Noa, my little princess. With the big financial adjustment that me and my husband have to make 6 months ago because I left my office job, I knew that I needed to cut down on the “nice-to-have” purchases for Noa.
It’s not a secret anymore that I like online shopping since I learned that I was pregnant with Noa. I practically tried buying anything for her online–busha pants, soft-sole shoes, baby food, etc. But there’s one thing that I really couldn’t resist buying: hair accessories.
My daughter has been blessed by God to have long and “thick” hair since birth. This made me fonder of shopping for headbands, hairbows, hairpins, and even beanies.
Surprisingly, my husband was also involved in developing this stash. Whenever we go out to shop in the department store, I see to it that we stop by the toddler’s or accessories section to get one for Noa. These are the ones our daughter uses for our every “lakwatsa” or when vanity strikes me, at home.
Since I told you that my husband always advises me to spend wisely since the day I decided to focus more on raising Noa, I make it a habit to look for the best quality product available with the most competitive price online. One fine day, I stumbled into this pretty new online shop with the name “Dainty Ashley.” I had no second thoughts in liking the page since it houses fabulous headpieces with competitive prices compared to my old supplier. 🙂
One day, I received an email from its owner, Mommy Mai. She said that she has planned to contact me if we could let my readers try her headpieces through a blog giveaway. My heart really melted when she mentioned to me that she is a subscriber of my blog. (Thanks, Mommy Mai!) Of course, I immediately said yes because I could tell by just looking at her creations that she is passionate with what she does. I’ve proven it true enough when I asked her some questions on how she started with her biz.
Dainty Ashley is a family business. I admire Mommy Mai because she personally manages it–from researching, materials sourcing from USA and China, manufacturing, and even marketing! Interestingly, Mommy Mai told me that her husband even helps her out in material cutting, quality control, and product photography! 🙂
Mommy Mai is also a one proud Work-At-Home Mom and a strong breastfeeding advocate. She has 2 adorable children, Asher, 4 years old (breastfed for 2 years, 9 months) and Ashley, 10 months (breastfeeding since birth).
I asked Mommy Mai of her advice to any mom who is planning to start her own online business. She humbly said:
“Actually I also have a lot to learn pa. Pero sa gusto magstart ng biz..simple lang. Just know what’s their passion or interest. Walang madaling business pero kung nag-eenjoy ka and you keep yourself inspired with what you’re doing, it will be easier to take on na. Also, have a support system..husband, family and friends. Malaking bagay yung may nag-aappreciate sa ginagawa mo. And probe/research. Know your competitors, what they offer. Maging madiskarte sa paghanap ng suppliers and know what exactly your market wants.”
On Noa’s 1st birthday last July, she sent us a prettified box full of hair trinkets! I’d like to thank Mommy Mai for letting us try her creations on Noa. I must say that they are really labor of love!
These are the uber cute headpieces Mommy Mai sent on our way! I love them all! We’ve been using these headbands and hair clips for quite sometime now and they have never failed us in terms of cuteness and durability!
I love this personalized hair clip she made for Noa! 🙂 This is a worry-free hair clip because its back is well-padded so it won’t hurt your baby/toddler’s head. It is made by a mom so safety is a major consideration in her creations. 🙂
When we attended a close friend’s wedding (who also happened to be my OB-GYNE and Noa’s godmother) a few weeks back in Fort Bonifacio, it was an opportune time for Noa to wear “Abi.”
During a playdate, Noa was able to wear one of my favorite Dainty Ashley pieces, in fact, a customized piece made just for Noa. Another, super thank you, Mommy Mai! 🙂
Headpiece : Noa (Dainty Ashley); Shirt : Gymboree
Pants : Baby Gap; Shoes : Mothercare
Noa wore it during a Saturday afternoon coffee date with my mommy friends. Since this headpiece is not yet out in her store, I’ll be a little thick-faced to name it “Noa.” :p
Now, I know you’re all waiting to try on the Dainty Ashley accessories for your little daughter, niece or practically any dainty ladies in your life! 🙂 Mommy Mai and her generous store, Dainty Ashley is giving away some fabulous headpieces for the little princesses of my readers! 🙂 Hello, Rafflecopter and we meet again! 🙂
This giveaway is only open to Filipino residents with valid Philippine shipping address. No purchase is required to join this giveaway. All entries are subject to validation. I reserve the right to pick another winner once the Rafflecopter task is not fulfilled correctly by the participant.
Thank you Mommy Mai and Dainty Ashley for sponsoring this blog giveaway!
Also, I have to say that I admire online shops who do biz for a cause. Whenever you purchase any Dainty Ashley Pearls Collection, 10% of it will go to the Project Pearls, a non-government organization that seeks to help the poorest of the poor children here in the Philippines. In this own little way, I am able to promote helping these children of Ulingan.
