On November 24, 2012, my mommy group, Avenue for Mommies Online (AMO) celebrated our first anniversary and Christmas party at the Function Room 3 of KFC in SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City. It was a well-attended gathering of 40 AMO families (80 adults + 50 kids), for a total of 130 moms, dads and children.
Being one of the organizers of our first get-together, I honestly did not expect that we would be getting overwhelming support from the mommy members and even from different companies.
Our preparation started 2 weeks before the party. I’m really happy that the AMO moms (and even dads) worked hand-in-hand to make this possible. I wasn’t even expecting that many moms would sign up because we are only a simple mommy group in Facebook, and we have NO FUND to organize a party like this. All the mommies agreed that we would all be contributing to whatever expenses we would incur in this gathering.
This is our gorgeous tarp, lovingly designed by one of our members, Mommy Ron Moreno. Thanks for your patience as you needed to update the sponsors list every now and then. I also love the intricate snowflakes by Mommies Edel Kutukova, Mona Bormate and Desiree Peñales.
Here is our registration table manned by Mommy Grace Gan, Krystyna Quimpo, Mae Lucero & Sherrybe Raymundo. They are the hardworking ones who were in-charge of the attendance, food stubs, name tags, and exchange gift.
As you enter the function room and look at the front, this would surely give a huge smile on your face. We are indeed blessed!
And this is the AMO way of emceeing–with kids in tow! :p This is Mommy Vee Fernadez of Soldier Mom’s Corner with Baby Echo + Baby Alfa (on the oven) and Mommy Edel Kutukova with our little Russian doll, Nastja! 🙂
We also had games for moms, dads and even kids! The moms were playing a game called, “Higher, Lower.” It is actually a prototype of the famous Pinoy Henyo, but instead of words, numbers were to be guessed correctly. (Our team won this game! 🙂
If there are games, of course they are winners! Here are the faces who went home with cool prizes from our generous sponsors.
Since we really got a lot of support from our fellow AMO moms and sponsors, all the moms surely went home with something during the raffle draw. We even had 2 waves of raffle, 1 full round for minor prizes and 1 round for major prizes!
Winners of Drypers Gift Pack: Mommies Desiree Peñales, April Manuel, Liv Reyes, Aileen Cabrera & Darah Villanueva
3 winners of the Philips Avent Mealtime Set : Mommies Donna Quiambao, Darah Villanueva & Cheddy Araneta
As one of the founders of AMO, I feel really, really blessed to see all the families come together for a time of celebration and friendship. I also love the thrill when I see the kids play and dance together.
We had a time of gift giving both for moms and kids. We also distributed cupcakes made for each mommy member by one AMO mommy herself and chief baker, Grace Gan, of Hummingbread followed by a group photo.
This will not be possible without the blessings we received from our generous company partners! I personally would like to say thank you for trusting us. You never had any second thoughts in supporting us: Philips Avent Philippines, Aprica Philippines, Goody Philippines, Drypers Wee Wee Dry, Mustela Philippines, Chicco Philippines, Nutri-del Infant & Toddler Cereal, Hummingbread, Ygo’s Organics, Bulinggit Corner, Bug&Kelly Music Inspired Kids Wear, Dainty Ashley, Cast & Craft Philippines, Moms & Kids Magazine, Goody Gulp Chocolate Milk Drink, Tip Tap Soft Soles, Pumpkeen, Smart Steps, Oral Health Care for Babies (the makers of Sansfluo), Unilab, The Fawn Shoppe, Smart Parenting Magazine, Tiny Buds, and Team Sir George of Mary Pauline Salon Group.
Thank you also to the generous hearts of Mommies Karen Baydo, Analiza Bataoey, Keng Plan, Rhodora Dacanay & Eunice Ybañez for sending some love for AMO across the miles.
.And of course to all the AMO mommies for supporting us all the way! Cheers! 🙂
Our party is not all about having fun but we also know how to share our blessings to others. All the AMO moms were requested if they could bring in some slippers for the cause that we are supporting called the “Bayanihan : Tsinelas for a Cause.“ I’m really happy that these moms have golden hearts because we were able to gather almost 35 dozens of slippers for the poorest of the poor children in Negros.
This post will not end here because I will still be sharing the blessings that we received last weekend to all the distant AMO mommies. We have about 10 members who are located in Northern Luzon and as far as Mindanao who weren’t able to celebrate with us.
Aside from this, I will also be sharing the love to the readers of my blog. I hope you can also join our group as we open our doors again by January 2013! If you want to learn more about our group, please visit my tab here with the label “The Mommy Avenue.”
IMPORTANT : If you are an AMO Mom, please use this FIRST Rafflecopter for your entries. 🙂 This widget is exclusively for our DISTANT AMO moms who were not able to join us at the party. When joining, you agree to shoulder the shipping of your loot. There will be 2 winners for this.
If the Rafflecopter picks you FIRST, you will get this hefty loot! 🙂 This includes a Philips Avent Magic Sportster!
If you are picked on the second spot, you get away with this plus a PhP500.00 Dainty Ashley Gift Certificate!

I will announce the winner on my blog’s Facebook fan page on Christmas Day! 🙂
