Top 10 Child-Care Products That We Love

I’ve featured quite a few brands here in my blog when I started in 2011. I’ve also been to a lot of mommy and baby bazaars around the metro. I’ve also tried many products that are available here and some from abroad. But I’ve come to realize that I think I owe my readers the information, or at least a list of products that I actually use in raising my daughter N.

Credibility is one of the blogging values that I strive to maintain in this blog, so, if you must know, I only feature products here that I personally believe in as a mother. Let me take you to a quick tour to our home to see the top 10 child-care products that we actually use.

Oh, and also, I’d like to say that this is not a sponsored post. I did not receive any compensation of any kind in writing this post from the brands that I am featuring. Majority of these products are locally available and could easily be found in supermarkets, department, specialty, and online stores.

The Sansfluo Tooth Gel Cleanser has been my savior during my daughter’s teething stage. Mind you, we actually have 2 flavors here at home: strawberry and orange. But for some reasons, N doesn’t like the orange flavor. We stick to the strawberry flavor until now. As you can see in the photo, it’s almost through. The Sansfluo Tooth Cleansing Gel contains xylitol and fluoride free, and is recommended for children ages 0-6 years old.

This is a perfect partner to the Sansfluo Finger Toothbrush, made of silicon, and works very well in cleaning your child’s teeth and tongue (from milk residue) and massaging painful or itchy gums.

The Philips Avent Straw Cup is also a winner! I haven’t experienced any spilling issues when we are using this. My daughter did not like sippy cups so we immediately jumped from bottles to glass trainers and straw cups. I needed only 10 items for this list so I wasn’t able to include Pigeon’s Straw Brush. That’s what you can use in cleaning the straw part of the cup to avoid mold build-ups. This is a must-have for parents with kids who are always on the go.

Drypers Wee Wee Dry is a product that has been with us even before N was born. I’ve been searching all over the net at that time, reading through mom forums on the best disposable diaper brand. Suddenly, I saw a link to the Drypers Wee Wee Dry website saying that I could actually request for free samples. Lo and behold, I received 2 parcels with Drypers Wee Wee Dry diapers (NB = newborn) the following week after I signed up for free sample.

If you’re a first-time mom or soon-to-be-mom wanting to try Drypers for yourself, or wanting to ditch your old sposies brand, you can request for free samples here:

I have no complaint whatsoever with Drypers. I’ve tried other brands that are even more expensive than Drypers but I’ve decided to stick with it because I’m satisfied with its quality and price.

Messy Bessy is one of my recent favorite brands and I highly recommend it. I’ve tried using their Dish Cleaner (Vanilla Orange) as well and I fell in love with it. Since N is turning 2 this year, I’ve decided to slowly incorporate her to the products that our household is using. For 2 years, we use the Tiny Buds Bottle & Utensil Wash in cleaning her feeding paraphernalia. But I thought to myself, she’s getting bigger (and older) now so she must get used to using “more adult-like” products, but still safe.

Going back to the Fabric Freshner, this one smells sooooooo good! I think I’m already addicted to its smell. This product is earth-friendly (aka organic), non-toxic, biodegradable and could be sprayed on fresh laundry, linens, upholstered furniture, and “even those clothes that you (secretly) want to use just one more time before washing.” Aside from spraying it on our clothes and linens, it is also great as a room spray! I buy my stash of Messy Bessy from Rustan’s or Hobbes & Landes.

I learned about the Tiny Buds Rice Powder from the Internet when I was still pregnant because I was researching on the best baby products that I could use for my upcoming baby. I remember my husband’s caution on baby powders. He grew up asthmatic because of using a baby powder brand that contains talcum. Check on the label mommies and daddies. The American Academy of Pediatrics do not recommend the use of baby powders that has talcum. But if cannot be prevented (since it’s scorching hot here in our country), it is advised to sparingly use a baby powder that is made of cornstarch, or from earth-friendly materials (in Tiny Buds’ case, rice grains).

The Drypers Baby Wipes is one of the best wipes that I’ve used! It’s thick, alcohol-free, and smells really fresh and good! The downside is, I don’t know where to buy my stash from! Calling SCA Philippines!! Please make the Drypers Baby Wipes available! I will exchange all the available baby wipes in the world for you!

The Cradle Toy & Surface Cleaner is a must-have for any baby bag. If you’re fond of eating out and tired of messy highchair tables, just spray and wipe some and you’re all set! It is also good for cleaning your child’s toys, especially those that fell to the ground. I recommend having the 75-ml spray to carry with you everywhere.

The Chicco No-Tears Bath Foam is very economic and safe to use because it contains no parabens. I’ve also tried quite a few baby wash on N but this one stands out in making her smell fresh all-day! The Chicco No-Tears Bath Foam is for children 0+ and could be use from head to foot.

The Tramontina Baby Cutlery Set came as a birthday present from my fellow The Mommy Avenue friend, Aileen Cabrera. I owe to this cutlery set a large portion of N’s ability to eat on her own. The special piece of this set is the curved/bent spoon that could actually make eating food with a spoon easier for your child.

No doubt, Mustela’s Child Skin Care Line is one of the best for me! Some may find this brand pricey but definitely worth it! Aside from Mustela’s Stelatria, which is very good for treating irritation such as insect bites, minor but not oozing wounds, rashes, scratches, and bruises, leaving the skin with no scar trace! I’d also bet my name for Mustela’s Vitamin Barrier Cream which is very good to apply to baby’s neck and bikini line to prevent rash. I also apply it on N’s bum when I find any redness due to “overstaying” nappy. This 55-gram tube will serve you for a long time!

That ends Moomy’s Top 10 picks on Baby/Child-Care Products. If you know an item or a product that should go with this list that could also help others moms, feel free to leave a comment below. If you also have questions or anything that I have missed in saying about my list, leave a word for me. πŸ™‚
