I am very happy to be a part of this press luncheon because I’m a self-confessed anemic since I was a teenager. I looked forward to learning and understanding my condition more so I could properly address it through the help of the guest certified medical professional.

PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) sexiest vegetarian awardee and Glam-o-Mama Amanda Griffin-Jacobs hosted the Sangobion Luncheon.

That afternoon was filled with useful and valuable information that could help us defend ourselves against Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA).

To further explain what Iron Deficiency is all about, Sangobion invited Dr. Corazon Zaida Gamilla, OB-GYNE Department Chairman from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST) Hospital.

Studies show that Iron Deficiency Anemia is a prevalent condition among women, especially younger ones. So if you always find yourself in looking pale, losing focus easily, short of breath (even when doing minimal tasks), fatigue, and frequently experiencing vertigo or headache, then you may be suffering from Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA).

Dr. Gamilla in this press conference also highlighted the importance of consulting your doctor before taking any medication, and going for a Complete Blood Count (CBC) before taking any supplement. People have different recommend daily Iron intake, depending on their age and lifestyle. For example: lactating, pregnant, and extremely busy career women may need more than the 12mg baseline Iron supply in their body.

“Catnaps are powerhouses because it reinforces the body but it couldn’t take the place of nocturnal sleep!” Dr. Gamilla also emphasized.

Iron Deficiency Anemia could be prevented by keeping a healthy lifestyle, eating a balanced diet (especially nuts, liver, red meat, eggs, oatmeal), having a minimum of 6-hours of nocturnal sleep and exercising.

Another way to combat Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) is by taking Iron supplement like Sangobion. Sangobion has the essential vitamins and minerals that could help us boost our way against IDA. It has Vitamin C, Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Copper Sulfate and Manganese Sulfate, which comes in soft, chocolate-scented capsules. Just be warned of the most common side-effect of taking Iron supplement, which is black stool.

Be an “iron lady” now like me and Cheska by taking Sangobion everyday, your most-trusted Iron Booster! ❤
