Cupcakes by Sonja Opens New Doors for a Sweet Cause

“Each branch is a unique place of cupcake delight.” –Sonja Ocampo, Cupcakes by Sonja owner.

On October 24, Cupcakes by Sonja, opened another cupcake haven at the East Wing of Shangri-la Plaza Mall in Mandaluyong City. This new home for sweet treats is so far, the biggest store branch they ever had.

As soon as I entered Cupcakes by Sonja’s newest home, it gave me that cozy feeling from home. It is a great place for family to get together for dessert, or even a small tea party with your girlfriends.

Cupcakes by Sonja’s opens a new home at the Shangri-la Plaza Mall

“With Serendra as its original home and new branches in Glorietta and Power Plant Mall, Cupcakes by Sonja opens its latest and biggest store to date at the new wing of Shangri-la Plaza Mall. Apart from offering our delicious desserts to walk-in customers, it will also be the hub for customized dessert orders in the area,” says Anne Gonzalez, Cupcakes by Sonja partner.

Since Cupcakes by Sonja is now bigger in size, they are now accommodating family gatherings and corporate events.

I love their interiors with hints of love and nostalgia!

“The design of the store in Serendra was really inspired by New York and all the cupcake stores I visited then. We then refreshed and updated the look of the Glorietta store, made it a little bit more grown-up. It’s still nostalgic, but it’s more current at the same time. It now has more of an industrial vibe, partnered with a sustainable style. We were drawn to native, recycled, and re-purposed materials, so we used upcycled elements such as salvaged wood, antique bricks, and corrugated container metal sheets,” reveals Cupcakes Mademoiselle Sonja Ocampo.

2013 is such a sweet year for Cupcakes for Sonja because this year, they opened a few branches that serve their yummy cupcakes treats. Adding up to the sweet roster of their pioneer/flagship store in Serendra, they are also now serving cupcakes in Glorietta, Rockwell, and now in Shangri-la. Cupcakes by Sonja Shangrila-la Plaza Mall is their 4th branch.

A moment on the lips, forever on the hips, but I’d still have these yummy sweet treats! 🙂

My daughter and I were very honored to be a part of this joyous and momentous occasion for Cupcakes by Sonja. The opening of Cupcakes by Sonja in Shangri-la Plaza Mall has a “School” theme for a great reason.

Check out these very cute centerpieces, which I later on found out made by my friend Anne Mateo of Ant’s Pocket.

Janice Crisostomo-Villanueva hosted Cupcakes by Sonja’s Shangri-la Branch official opening, and of a coming wonderful partnership.

In line with the opening of the newest addition to their sweet growing family, Cupcakes by Sonja also announced a special partnership with Molding Optimism and Values through Education, or shortly known as Move.org, a non-profit group, by supporting their feeding programs. This #SweetCause aims to raise sufficient funds in the next 3 months, which will go to constructing a kitchen, necessary to sustain Move.org’s feeding activities.

Move.org’s mission is to build schools and provide care for the underprivileged pre-school children in the Navotas and Malabon areas.

Move.org is also a preferred partner-in-mission of Habitat for Humanity Philippines.

Cupcakes by Sonja and Move.org through the #SweetCause advocacy, join hands in creating positive change in our children’s lives, one sweet tooth at a time.

Isn’t this buffet table so adorable? I had sugar overload during this day.

I also love the edible toppers used in this mini-cupcakes.

Peanut Butter Cuppies!!

I’ve personally knows Red Velvet Cupcakes first at Cupcakes by Sonja as early as 2006 if I’m not mistaken. My favorite sweet treat from this shop would still be the Berry Strawberry Delight Cheesecake Cupcake.

In this newest Cupcakes by Sonja’s branch, the children have a special spot wherein they could do some activities like reading a book or doing some coloring. I love the little rocking chairs they have for the children.

This is my daughter N as she enjoys reading a book at the Cupcakes by Sonja Shangri-la Plaza Mall branch.

Next to the children’s area at their shop is Cupcakes by Sonja’s open kitchen. I just loved watching these pastry chefs decorate these cupcakes.

For this sweet cause, Cupcakes by Sonja whipped up a new product — CAKE CUPS. For every time you avail of the Cake Cups, a portion of its sales will be donated to support Move.org‘s feeding programs.

These Cake Cups come in 3 delicious flavors — Tres Leches with Strawberries, Coffee Caramel Biscoff Crunch, and Milk Chocolate with Hazelnut Praline. These 3 yummy flavors are made of the freshest and sweetest ingredients that have made Cupcakes by Sonja known for.

Also, for minimum purchase of Cake Cups, customers will get adorable cupcake pencils to make this #SweetCause extra special and memorable.
