Experiencing Baby Expo Philippines 2013

Waking up that one Friday morning was a breeze because I was very excited for the opening of the biggest and grandest family event of the year, Baby & Family Expo Philippines 2013.

“The BABY & FAMILY EXPO is an event for the entire family, expecting parents as well as relatives and friends to enjoy and spend quality time together through the fun-filled activities we lined up,” says MediaCom Solutions Inc. CEO , co-founder and Expo organizer David Abrenilla.

Here I come, Baby & Family Expo!

I’ve been waiting for it for quite sometimes now so I did not bother travelling for almost 3 hours (with traffic jam) just to witness its momentous opening, plus the fact that I could get to see my mommy friends from the blogging world. I arrived at the SMX just in time before the crowd gets so much bigger. It wasn’t difficult to locate the venue because as soon as you enter the SMX Hall, this huge welcome sign from Baby & Family Expo would greet you.

I went straight to the registration table and when I finished signing my name on, I instantly saw my friend, Rina of Rina’s Rainbow, busy taking a phone call. 🙂 Good thing she was there ahead of me because I barely know anyone in the crowd, and I’d appreciate company. As time passes by, I bumped into two more mommy blogger friends, Serene or Nurse’s Diary, and Irene of The Wh-o Mom.

Included in the roster of personalities who attended the opening and ribbon-cutting ceremonies were ANC’s “On the Money” host and The Master’s Academy President Edric Mendoza, Azkals coach Michael Weiss, former beauty queen turned actress Maria Isabel Lopez, Fil-Canadian singer and actor Mikey Bustos, Palanca awardee and columnist Wilson Lee Flores, Cordlife Philippines’ director Huiying Tan, Medela Moms co-founder Beng Feliciano, Picar Development, Inc. Vice President for Sales Marian Roxas, Marketing Director Alma Cala and many more.

Interesting Finds at the Baby & Family Expo

Every time I visit family and kids bazaars like this, I try my best to look for something new that is in the local market that would be useful and meaningful in helping us out in our parenting journey.

Phoenix Early Learning Services, Inc. offers interactive materials like books and wooden toys for pre-schoolers.

Smart Steps was also there and they have a gift offering for moms and dads who were able to purchase at least PhP500.00 worth of Smart Steps products. Smart Steps products include a mild laundry detergent, fabric conditioner, and bottle utensil cleanser for a budget-friendly price.

If you’re a cloth diapering mom who’s a Chino Pino fan, they have recently launched Cotton Nappy Starter, which works so much like a cloth diaper. The Chino Pino Cotton Nappy Starter Pack has 3 inclusions:

  • Chino Pino Reusable Cotton Diapers
  • Diaper Cover with microbePROTEK™ fluid management system
  • Soaker with microbePROTEK™ fluid management system

High Chairs were also on sale by Giant Carrier, starts at PhP1,200.00

If you’re a fan of Spanish Baby Care Line products, a stall called Shop Barcelona offers baby colognes and skin care products from Spain, brands like Denenes and Nenuco. They’re on Facebook as Prima Mercadona. 🙂

If there’s one thing I appreciate about the Baby & Family Expo was their indoor playground that the kids could use for free!

AMSPEC, the company that brings you CRAYOLA had a booth offering crayons, obviously, coloring books, and other art materials for kids of all ages.

If you’re a fan of Charlie Banana (you should try their swim diapers! superb!), I saw this great deal on their Hanging Diaper Pail, with an almost 50% slash off the tag.

These wooden toy blocks and shapes from Rubbabu is also a nice-to-have for your little one.

This stall offers imported kakikayan stuff like make-up, bags, accessories, and more for a low price! I saw bargain cosmetic items from Benefit and MAC for as low as PhP300.

Of course, Adarna Books has a very nice book collection for kids. I saw this “Unang Aklat” (My First Book) series, which I really wanted to get for N. I need to drop by their showroom in Quezon City soon to get these.

Another Adarna book called, “100 Questions Filipino Kids Ask” should also go to our shelf. I will surely hunt this down again for N. It comes in 2 volumes.

There are so much more to discover and learn than what I wrote in this post at the Baby & Family Expo Philippines 2013. I just would like to commend the organizers for coming up with events like this to promote informed and fun parenthood.

In case you miss this 3-day gathering of Filipino families, together with various brands that cater and support their needs, don’t fret because who knows, Media Com might organize another one in 2014. baby-expo-philippines
