Yoshinoya Welcomes Miss Earth 2013 Beauties

A couple of weeks ago, I was given an opportunity to personally meet and greet the official candidates of Miss Earth 2013 over lunch at Yoshinoya in Robinson’s Galleria with other fellow lifestyle bloggers.

The event was jam-packed with press people from the media world–print, broadcast, and digital. All eagerly waited for the Miss Earth beauties who will be vying for the crown today, December 7th at the Versailles Palace in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

The Miss Earth beauty contest is yearly pageant centered on environmental awareness. This green-driven contest which started back in 2001 is organized by Carousel Productions, through the Miss Earth Foundation.

This year’s pageant theme, “International Year of Water Cooperation,” 90 candidates from around the world will compete for the prestigious 2013 Miss Earth crown.

Eco-tourism is at the center of this year’s competition. It aims to use tourism as a means to help alleviate poverty around the world. The Miss Earth 2013 pageant is hosted by the Philippines.

Miss Japan, Miss Earth and the other Miss Earth beauties were so game for a photo op.

Shortly after having lunch generously prepared for Yoshinoya, the girls lined up to participate in the games. The first game was the marshmallow game with a twist! Instead of using a spoon or any other utensils to transfer the mallows from one point to another, they have to do it Japanese style–using chopsticks!

Practice, practice, girls!

Miss Brazil is definitely ready to give a good chopsticks fight!

Care for a little trivia? Teresa Fajksova of the CzechRepublic is the reigning Miss Earth. Karla Henry is the first Miss Earth from the Philippines. The first Miss Earth was Catharina Svenson of Denmark.

She is our very own Miss Earth Philippines, 26-year-old, Angelee Claudett delos Reyes. To support our very own Miss Earth 2013 beauty Angelee, please visit
