It was a short but sweet notice coming from 20th Century Fox (Philippines) and I just couldn’t say no to it. N and I have been planning to see this movie for weeks now, and the invitation from them came as a surprise.
Mr. Peabody and Sherman Press Screening
March 1st at 10:30 AM, N and I arrived at the Cinema 3 of Glorietta 4 in Makati City. I was clueless on what to expect since it was my first time visiting an event organized by 20th Century Fox. It was truly a family date movie because I’ve seen a lot of children with their parents who were all very excited to see Mr. Peabody and Sherman.
As soon as we got our tickets, I saw Mr. Peabody coming out to greet everyone! We were allowed to have a photo op with him wearing our oversized movie-inspired eyeglasses.
After the photo op, we were treated to a delicious brunch before the show. Can I just say that I super loved the Burger Steak of that catering service!? 🙂 After finishing our brunch, N and I already went inside the cinema to secure two good seats for the show. At the entrance of Cinema 3, another surprise was waiting for us.
McDonalds Happy Meal graced the Mr. Peabody and Sherman Press Screening. What I didn’t know then was McDonald’s would be coming out with Mr. Peabody and Sherman Happy Meal toys, two days after the Press Screening.
What to expect from Mr. Peabody and Sherman?
Mr. Peabody and Sherman is a story of a super smart and trained dog, Mr. Peabody who grew up without a family. He devoted himself into studying and turning his life into success. One day while walking down the street, he heard a baby’s cry and found a little boy inside a box. He later on named him Sherman after winning his right to adopt him in court.
Mr. Peabody and Sherman bond through time traveling together — this is how Sherman significantly learned a lot about history. This was proven true during his first day of class when Sherman refuted his teacher and classmate Penny about a “popular” historical fact about America’s first president, George Washington. When asked where he got his information from, he told them Washington himself said so.
Penny did not like Sherman’s gesture so she started bullying him at recess time. Sherman reached the end of the line and bit Penny on the arm. As a result, Mr. Peabody was summoned by the school principal, and even led to a greater problem, questioning his ability as a dog to raise a human boy.
Mr. Peabody and Sherman: An Animated Movie With a Big Heart for Family
I’d end my spoiler there so you can go and watch Mr. Peabody and Sherman with your children this weekend. What I love about this movie is the meeting of the future and the past since the movie viewers would get to see famous people like Albert Einstein, Leonardo Da Vinci, Mona Lisa, and even relieve history’s big moments like The Trojan War.
More so, I appreciate the fact that this movie teaches valuable lessons on parenting, friendship, the reality of bullying, self-confidence and humility. It is an animated movie with a big heart, deep message to convey if you watch close enough.

Thank you very much 20th Century Fox Philippines for inviting me and my daughter to the Press Screening of Mr. Peabody and Sherman! We really had a great bonding time. I’d give this movie my Mommy thumbs up! ♥
