Expo Mom 2014: You The Mom!

Expo Mom 2014 is my fourth event attendance in a row! I’ve been religiously attending the Expo Mom events since I became a mom in 2011 because it keeps me updated on the latest products and trends in childcare.

This year was the first Expo Mom that I attended in Glorietta because the first 3 expos that I’ve visited were all held at the Rockwell Tent.

I sort of expected the crowd to go big at the Expo Mom 2014 on their two remaining days since it’s a weekend, hence I decided to come on the first day. I noticed a few changes, and I also wish some aspects were retained by Mommy Mundo, which I will be sharing about in a bit. Firstly, let me take you to some of the new and interesting stuff that I came across with.

I spotted some great bargains on children’s clothes from different sellers, including St. Patrick Baby.

There’s a new brand for chic dresses and bags for little girls called The Princess & the Pea Shop.

Noa actually liked one of their bags. They sell it for Php600 each.

She says, “I like PINK!”

Speaking of bags, Lassig is also on sale and they have new items in stock. You might want to check them out as well.

In case you are looking for diaper bags, there are a lot of nice designs now at ManilaBaby Shop.

As for some arts & craft and DIY/personalized trinkets, it’s a one-stop shop for Ant’s Pocket and Paper Chic Studio.

You can find these rubber stamps at Paper Chic Studio

This rack of Enfant items below is all less than P200 each. You might want to raid this, too! 🙂

If you are looking for some gift items to give, you can find really nice Babinski stuff here for as low as P300.

Sand Puff is perfect for your sandboxes because did you know that these are actually edible? It’s more safe than letting the kids play with actual sand. The Sandpuff is made from powdered seashell. A set costs about P1,250 if I’m not mistaken (a set is shown in the photo below).

Kiinde is a great system for the breastfeeding moms. I love how we can save so much space in the fridge when storing our expressed breastmilk. It is a whole complete system from expressing to actually feeding your baby. It is perfect for working moms who still wish to continue feeding their baby with breastmilk while away from home.

A box of this Baby Natura organic dried fruit snack from Thailand costs P50. There’s an ongoing sampling at Expo Mom should you wish to try before you buy. 🙂 There are also baby cereals at the bottom of this rack, please check it out.

A few steps away from the Baby Natura rack comes the Welch’s 100% grape juice booth with yummy samples. I was surprised when I let Noa taste it because she liked it! 🙂 I always drink Welch’s when I was pregnant with her so there’s no doubt that I like this product a lot. I’m glad that they found their way to Expo Mom 2014.

In front of Welch’s is the booth of Mathemagis Singaporean Math that Noa really enjoyed hanging out.

I did not shop much aside from 2 bottles of Welch’s and a rubber stamp set at Paper Chic Studio. I just feel like Noa has a lot of stuff already, which I am thinking of giving away.

I just bought the Welch’s and the Rubber Stamp Set, cost is less than P400.

I hope this rubber stamp set helps me here at home in disciplining my little girl.

So what do I think about this year’s Expo Mom?

  • I still like Rockwell Tent for a venue. It’s cooler, more relaxed and peaceful when you shop.
  • Please just leave your strollers at home because I find the aisles a little too small to fit in a bunch of people then a stroller. Try babywearing if you wish to stop with your kid in tow.
  • More chairs next to the stage for attendees as they listen to the talks and a lounge where we the shoppers with kids can rest a bit.
  • Bring back the Stroller Parking, Changing and Breastfeeding Area
  • Water Drinking  Stations again, please? 🙂

Now on its 7th year, Expo Mom is the biggest annual gathering of progressive and active moms and moms-to-be. In its trademark market, #ExpoMom showcases fave mom and baby brands alongside mompreneur products and services. The event also features all-day talks, demos, games and regular raffle draws. Expo Mom Manila happens on May 16-18 at the Glorietta 2 Activity Center Makati.

I love events like this. I once attended the Mom & Me event at the Rockwell with my daughter & it was a lot of fun. If only I am not pregnant, I would have gone to the Expo Mom, too…
