Events & Media Launches,

Mom-Me Time 2014 with Rica & Baby and Breakfast

One of the best mommy days.. EVER! 🙂

It was that one fine day that I received an email from Baby & Breakfast — a party-inspiration blog that covers the chicest and cutest children’s party these days. I was told that they are organizing an event with Wanders&Wonders, a blog owned by the new mom, Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio. Syempre check naman ako agad ng schedule ko. Kaboom! Clean and free. I desperately need a Mom-ME time.

Days passed and I received a formal invitation via mail. As expected of Baby & Breakfast, it was really cute. Receiving personalized stuff is my kryptonite.

My excitement was soaring high while opening their invite. I later on learned that this invite was designed by Natural Selection Design Co., printed by CEVA Designs.

The Day of #MomMeTime2014

I was literally trembling as I climb the stairs going to the second floor of Spaces by Babyland in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. I was trembling because I was excited and at the same time nervous as to who would I be seating next to.

Lo and behold, I was one of the 10 early birds (and I got a Joomajam CD as a prize). We also got a fab (temporary) tattoo each from Lulu DK.

Lulu DK Tattoos for every Supermom.

I was warmly welcomed by none other than the hosts Rica and Janna.

And they both helped me find my seat. 🙂

Can I just melt away like Olaf in summer?

Our comfy, wooden folding chairs were provided for by Botafogo Event Rentals. ♥

My photographs couldn’t justify how beautifully styled the venue was. Kudos to Gideon Hermosa of The Events Studio for this fab, fab, fab place!

I felt like Mary Lennox in my own Secret Garden! 🙂

And of course, any party wouldn’t be complete without yummy food! Thanks K. Cunanan for filling our hungry mommy tummies! 🙂

For dessert, who would resist this Make-Your-Own S’mores? Definitely not me. 🙂

Mommy Inspiration from Rica & Maricel

Rica was our very first inspirational speaker for the Mom-Me Time 2014. She began her talk by asking us some questions:

“Aside from being a wife and mom, who am I?
What do I love doing? What are my passions?
What are my strengths? What are my dreams for the future?”

She shared with us the photos of her mountain climbing adventures with her husband. According to Rica, mountain climbing is what she enjoys the most aside from reading.

Like Rica, I love traveling a lot. It is something that I want to enjoy if given time and resources. I love to see the other places God has made and learn from the people through their food and culture. They say, traveling is one thing that you can buy that makes you richer.

Our speaker at the Mom-Me Time 2014: Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan

Meanwhile, Mommy Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan told us, “Every mom is a princess even if you sometimes don’t feel like one.” I’ve always enjoyed listening to Maricel every time she talks. If there’s one nugget of wisdom that always resonates in my heart, I’d say is “to love yourself because you cannot give what you do not have.”

With all the marriage and family concerns that we face every single day, we fall into the trap of neglecting our well-being as a woman. Maricel told us that we shouldn’t feel guilty of pampering ourselves every now and then because we deserve it.

When was the last time you had a relaxing massage? How about a mani & pedi? Got yourself a new bag or a pair of shoes? Or even an hour of undisturbed moment with your favorite latte and book? Start loving yourself more today.

My Mom-Me Time 2014 Favorite Supermoms

Here are some of the wonderful moms that I spent the afternoon with. I loved listening to their stories, exchanging smiles and well-wishes with them.

  • Dimples Romana — she’s an actress and soon-to-be mom to her second child. She’s our flower crown diva. She’s one of the nicest girls that afternoon, offering smiles to everyone.
  • Danica Sotto-Pingris — she’s my tablemate together with Kaity of Snap. Play. Love and Frances of Topaz Mommy. She’s a sweet tooth like me and would often tag us to the s’mores or dessert bar.
  • Joy Tan-chi Mendoza — this woman is my breath of fresh air in the mommy blogging world. When I need a break from all the “commercialized” aspect of blogging, her site Teach With Joy is my oasis. You can say that she is one of my favorite mommy bloggers today. I am truly inspired by her faith in God (watch her powerful testimony on the 700 Club Asia — Tanikala Hatol), love for herself and her family. I am so glad to have finally met her during the Mom-Me Time 2014. It was a dream come true; thanks to Rica and Janna for making it possible.
  • Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan — she’s my momspiration since I first became a mom. I’ve been following her public talks on parenting with her husband Anthony.
  • Rissa Mananquil-Trillo — the woman behind my favorite cosmetics brand, Happy Skin. She’s really beautiful and full of grace, with
  • Nicole Hernandez — my girl crush from high school days. :p

I really had an amazing time! Thank you so much to Rica and Janna for inviting me to the Mom-Me Time 2014. I realized so many things about myself as a woman, wife and mom. I also appreciate all the generous sponsors for sharing your blessings to moms like us. We were showered with lots of freebies and giveaways. I even won a Mamas & Papas potty for my little one in the raffle.

The monogrammed brown leather purse was also a hit to all the moms from NiQUA. Look at the smiles of Thammie Sy and Lilian Yeo! 🙂

From the bottom of my mommy heart, million of thanks goes to all the Mom-Me Time 2014 Sponsors:

Thanks a lot again to Rica & Janna for organizing a mommy-only day such as this. Thanks for inviting me to spend this one great afternoon with all of you. I really appreciate it and will forever treasure the memory in my heart.
