Noa Turns 4: A Happy Birthday Weekend

Hiya everyone! 🙂 I am back after going offline for two weeks. I’ve always tried to uphold the principle of “I am a mommy” before “I am a blogger.” My husband also went home for his R&R after almost a year in time for Noa’s 4th Birthday. My family goes first before anyone or anything else so I see to it that I am focused on spending time with them.

A couple of weeks ago, our little girl turned four. I started planning for her birthday during the last two weeks of June. This year, we decided to hold a simple birthday celebration at school with her classmates.

07/03 (Friday): A Peppa Pig Birthday Party at School

We picked Peppa Pig as Noa’s 4th Birthday theme. Aside from My Little Pony and Shopkins, Peppa Pig has been one of Noa’s early cartoon favorites. It was a bit challenging to pull off a Peppa Pig themed birthday bash because of the limited Peppa Pig party favors and merchandise available locally.

Close your eyes and make a wish, our little princess!

This Peppa Pig Bento Box is specially made for Noa and her classmates by Nanay Lunches With Love

For the sake of Noa’s classmates’ privacy, I won’t upload her birthday party photos in school with them.

I will be making a separate post for Noa’s Peppa Pig Birthday Party. I wish to formally thank all my friends who helped me out with Noa’s party through that blog post.

Side Story: Hubby’s Birthday Staycation at New World Hotel Makati

We checked-in at New World Hotel Makati for my husband’s birthday staycation pig-out a few days before Noa’s birthday. But I think Noa felt like it was HER birthday all along. All because she was the one who enjoyed the staycation the most. She dominated the bed, the tub, and the TV!

That day, she also began dubbing all the hotels and “nice buildings” she sees as her “Happy Place.”

She couldn’t wait any longer to play and bathe at New World Hotel’s tub

We wish to be back at New World Hotel Makati. There were construction noises heard from time-to-time from our room at the 10th floor during the day. I almost hit the phone to call the Reception and make a request to relocate us. But my husband’s (the birthday boy) patience was so long and kind that it enabled me tolerate the situation.

I just wish to be back for a more serene stay at New World Hotel Makati.

07/04-05 (Saturday & Sunday): Subic, Here We Come!

My husband and I went to Subic in 2010 together a few days after our wedding. Even as adults, we enjoyed the calmness and laid-back vibe of SBMA, along with its tourist destinations such as Zoobic Safari and Ocean Adventure. We finally came back after five years with a kid in tow.

We left Manila at about 5:00AM for Subic and reached our first destination, Zoobic Safari at about 9:30AM. We had a few stop-overs along the way for coffee break, stretching and potty time. Our family enjoyed our guided tour and watching the animal shows at Zoobic Safari. Noa particularly loved feeding the birds! She was a little scared at first but after her Daddy explained things through a demonstation, she was amazed! We just bought some bird food onsite for only Php20.00. But Noa’s joy was priceless when the bird fed on the palm of her hand!

After our time at Zoobic Safari, we were famished so we headed to The Harbor Point Mall for lunch. We decided to grab meal there because it was only five minutes away from The Subic Grand Hoyah Hotel where we were billeted for the weekend.

I booked The Grand Hoyah Hotel over at Agoda and I scored a good deal. Our room was big and the breakfast was really yummy. We checked-in at about 2:00PM. While I freshen up, my husband napped and Noa watched Disney Junior. A few hours later, we gave Noa her requested birthday presents — a new Play-Doh Baking Kit and Disney Princess MagiClip: Ariel, Rapunzel & Anna.

Book Shopping at MV Logos Hope

It was already 5PM and we decided to check out MV Logos Hope.

MV Logos Hope is the world’s largest floating bookstore and being a book-loving family, we couldn’t miss this. It happened to be on its second to the last day berthing in Subic before sailing to San Fernando, La Union.

My husband scored his titles from Joel Rosenberg while I got a George RR Martin (author of my favorite book and TV series Game of Thrones) book called, “The Ice Dragon” for only 100 units (Php100). I also got a few books for Noa from Mo Willems and a Berenstain Bears, too.

In Mommy’s Heart

The past 15 days for me and my family was a time well-spent. My husband and I just hope that Noa had a great birthday weekend with us and her new friends at school. This post is my attempt to relive all the wonderful memories and exceeding joy the past two weeks has brought to my heart.

From this point on, I only got one wish for my little girl. My wish is that my husband will finally stay here with us for good; so Noa can have many more happy birthday weekends with her Daddy around.

Happy 4th Birthday, Noa! We love you so very much! No one will have everything in this life but Mommy & Daddy promise to give you all the best we can. We speak blessings of love, wisdom, good health, joy and the abundance of all the virtues this world has ever known! ♥
